The New IQS Season is Here!
Owners of 2011 MY vehicles purchased between November 1, 2010 and February 28, 2011 may be sampled by JD Power and Associates for the annual Initial Quality Study (IQS). Last year we placed in 7th overall (#3 non-luxury make), and our goal is to be among the top 3 this year! This goal can easily be achieved with a solid PDI process. Make sure the PDI checklist is thoroughly completed, filled out and retained.
A few key items are :
- Make sure the car is free from dents, dings and scratches.
- Set tire pressure to 2 PSI above label pressure to minimize unnecessary TPMS lights.
- Road test vehicle at least 10 minutes (5-10 miles), include highway speed if possible.
- Set NAV system to home state (if equipped).
- Check for any outstanding recalls or campaigns on WebDCS.
- Make sure the vehicle is equipped with a Quick Reference Guide (QRG). The vehicle QRG is an essential tool for customer delivery.
Being able to deliver perfect vehicles will help increase customer satisfaction and loyalty. Successful IQS results will also improve our brand quality reputation and will lead to increased sales and service business!
2011 Select Car Care - P07
Great News!
The 2011 Select Care Care program has been a big success! Dealers have responded extremely well to the program and as a result there has been a 39 point increase in HSI for Sonata.
Dealers are very excited about the Select Car Care program. Dealers are washing and vacuuming cars as well as offering customers treats and Thank You cards. Many have used it as an opportunity to be creative with the items that they are offering customers. Dealers have been creating gifts with their own packaging as well as promoting other products made locally. Ken Vance Hyundai in Eau Claire, WI is giving away gourmet mustards made by a local company and customers are responding well to this gift.
We would like to thank all dealers for the great work being done with the Select Car Care program!

GDS Internet Update - Version 1.09.10
An internet update for your GDS unit is now available.
In order to update to version 1.09.10 your GDS unit requires the latest DVD, version 1.90, to be installed.
The GDS unit will search for internet updates automatically when ever the GDS program is started or the “Internet Update” button is pressed.
The GDS internet update will contain the following:
- 208 CMA F/L 3.5 P0111 Logic
- VCI Firmware updated. If possible, your VCI unit should be available during the internet update.

DUB Edition Equus
The DUB Edition Hyundai Equus will debut featuring exterior, interior and audio modifications that tuners will not mistake for anything but the DUB Magazine style. Plans for the exterior modifications on the DUB Edition Hyundai Equus include Trex DUB Design mesh grille, DUB Design custom body kit, tinted windows and tail lights, and a custom two-tone, gloss black-and-matte charcoal paint job. Genesis Coupe Race Car From Gogogear
The Gogogear Racing Genesis Coupe emphasizes racing reliability and high-end performance capabilities. Additionally, the bright yellow paint scheme was designed in conjunction with Hyundai’s California Design Center. Mechanical adjustments to the engine aim to produce 330 horsepower and 280 lb. ft. of torque by adding an AEM air intake, Magnaflow exhaust system and ARK Performance headers. A Moroso accumulator will ensure proper lubrication of the engine under the expected 1.4 Gs of cornering loads.

Rhys Millen Racing Signature Edition Equus
The RMR Signature Edition Equus will include exterior, interior and performance upgrades that will enhance the already luxurious sedan. The Equus will showcase exterior RMR Signature Edition components including carbon mirrors, and front chin and rear deck spoilers. A two-tone carbon fiber and Red Bull Racing blue satin clear paint by BASF and HRE 21-inch P40 wheels will appropriately round out the exterior.

RIDES and 0-60 Magazines Sonata Turbo
The vehicle’s exterior modifications will be modest and tasteful, using influences from the four-door Brabus Mercedes CLS Rocket sport coupe to broaden and draw attention to the vehicle’s body lines from the factory. Key elements consist of 20-inch concave monobloc wheels, matte pearl white paint and a slew of carbon fiber components including the roof, grill, interior trim, side mirrors and rear diffuser.

"Elegant Equus" by Mummbles Marketing
The “Elegant Equus” will display engine, interior, exterior, brake, wheel and suspension modifications, as well as one-of-a-kind audio and video enhancements. Along with a turbo kit and carbon fiber accessories to enhance Equus’ V8 performance, Mummbles will install an Apple iPad to control certain aspects of the vehicle such as ride height, luxury curtains, stereo and windows.
