New Webinars Are Hot Tickets

This month Hyundai has introduced four new webinars -- our One Stop Shop series covering wiper blades, tires and batteries, plus a session entitled “Your New Digital Customers.” These have been so popular that all programs through February are full. However, we have plenty of space available in March. Please check in TACS for one that fits your schedule. We also have lots of space in both February and March for our other webinars.

“Welcome to Hyundai” Web-based Course is on TACS

Our new “Welcome to Hyundai” web-based course is now available on TACS. It replaces “Hyundai Service Orientation” as a Bronze-level certification requirement for both Service Managers and Service Consultants. If you’ve already completed the “Service Orientation” course, you do NOT have to take the new course to earn or maintain Bronze-level certification. If not, you DO need to take it in order to earn Bronze. That includes those of you who have partially completed the old course. TACS can’t accommodate both courses simultaneously. We apologize for any inconvenience if you have to start over.

The new course has up-to-date information on Hyundai’s history, U.S. operations and what makes us special, as well as a video introduction to the Alabama factory.

Reminder: Hyundai Battery Cores

Effective December 1, 2011, Hyundai Motor America removed the $12.00 battery core charge from current pricing to help dealers be more competitive when selling batteries. All the battery orders placed prior to December 01, 2011 were invoiced with cores regardless of delivery and processing date.

Your Interstate Battery Route Manager should provide you with a receipt for the quantity of batteries delivered and the quantity of cores picked up. Hyundai will reconcile core balances for each dealer based on the deliver/core pick-up receipts and any outstanding balances (credits or debits) will appear on the dealership’s Parts Statement the following month.

Please find below the Core change summary:

  • Dealer NET price was reduced by $12.00.
  • Dealers will no longer receive a core credit for batteries evacuated/returned.
  • Dealers will be billed on their parts statement at a rate of $12.00 per core that is not returned. The parts statement amount will be a single transaction that is a net sum of all core transactions. This will appear as HMA-1056 Report.
  • Dealers will continue to be responsible for returning a core on a one-for-one basis for each battery ordered.
