Remanufactured Engine Program
This new program joins our existing remanufactured parts line up and is governed by the same Warranty Policies. As with all of our remanufactured parts programs it is very important to complete all the paperwork and comply with the program requirements to ensure timely and complete credits. Technical Service Bulletin 08-EM-004 provides additional details to the program.
Ordering Procedures
As per Warranty Policy please check stock status before placing your order for a remanufactured engine. If there is not a remanufactured engine available please order the OE unit. Part numbers will be added to the program as they become available.
To confirm if a reman engine is available for a particular model, in your Parts System type "HRM" at the end of the OE part number (ex: 21101-23J50-HRM). If no results are returned, order the OE unit. However please remember to check again for a reman p/n before submitting your next order.
Exceptions to Ordering Reman Unit
The three primary exceptions in which you would NOT order a reman unit are:
- Vehicle has under 500 miles
- Reman parts B/O
- Lemon Law prevention
Core Return Procedures
- The remanufactured engine comes strapped to the plastic shipping container. DO NOT CUT THIS STRAP. You must re-use this strap to secure the engine core and ship back for credit. If the strap was mistakenly cut, please contact our Dealer Support line at 1-800-545-4515 to request a replacement strap.
- The engine core must be re-assembled. Whether you are returning short block or sub assembly, it must be re-assembled to match the remanufactured unit. Shipping the core back with loose parts could possibly cause damage to the core. If there are any loose parts credit will not be issued and possibly the warranty claim will be debited back.
- The remanufactured engine will be shipped inside a plastic bag. Please re-use this plastic bag to put the core in for shipping purposes. Failure to do so will result in a debit.
Required Paperwork
The following required paperwork must accompany each core:
- Engine Diagnostic Worksheet (NP150-08012)
- Core Return Checklist
- Dealer's complete Repair Order
Damaged Engine Cores
HMA is requesting that all engine cores be returned. Any cores not returned, regardless of core damage condition, will result in losing the core credit.
